Western Edge Gardens is founded on the principles of putting the land before ourselves and upholding the betterment of our planet. We design gardens to be aesthetically beautiful, unique, and personal while using eco conscious methods, resources and techniques.

Warren, our founder, was born and raised on a ranch in the mountains of Big Sur; an unforgiving environment where the natural world ruled daily life. Surviving heat waves, landslides and forest fires first hand, Warren gained an acute understanding of what it means to live life on the edge. Maintenance and knowledge of large off-grid water systems, dirt road construction and engineering, controlled fire burning and brush clearance are just some of the things that shaped his childhood. This homesteading way of life has instilled integral values including a strong work ethic, good communication and reliability.

His lifelong desire to learn more about plants has compelled him to travel the world. Exploring native habitats and botanical gardens near and far. The United Kingdom, Mexico, Central America, India, Nepal, Madagascar and Southern Africa to name a few. He is an avid plant collector and grower of many rare species. He once spent six months driving around Southern Africa in search of rare aloes and succulents. To say it was “inspirational” to him, is an understatement.

Despite receiving a Bachelors of Science degree in Geology, his true passion is horticulture. Warren identifies plants by their latin name and knows something about them all. His keen understanding and hands on approach of the natural world inspired him to create Western Edge Gardens; a company built upon education, environmental awareness and sustainability.

Warren achieved his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Geology and has completed several extra curricular courses in Horticultural and Native California plant studies. He continues to research and study plants from all over the world.
